Unspoken Understanding

Today, I welcomed a pair of identical twins from the United States. Despite having crossed the threshold of forty, they radiated a surprising youthful vigor. I couldn't help but speculate that their extraordinary bond was a result of profound brotherly affection. For them to go on this journey in a far land together, alongside one another, at such a mature stage in life is a rarity.

They had once attended the same /studies, college, shared a common dwelling, and were both engaged in remote work at the same company. I couldn't resist playfully inquiring, "Do you happen to have similar types?" They exchanged smiles with a simple "Yes we do",

"Our mom is getting old in years, and sometimes she seems to have trouble telling us apart," they added. The 5 minutes older also mentioned he wanted to move to Japan, and the younger one chimed in, 'If he moves here, I'll move too.' They seemed to share an unspoken understanding.

Yeah, they even contemplated purchasing a house together, as it appeared to be the simplest course of action. Throughout the entire journey, while they engaged with me in conversation, there was remarkably little verbal exchange between them. Yet, this might be because they simply didn't require spoken words.

Their interaction was as effortless and natural as being in one's own company, as if life had gained an unspoken companion, silently offering support and sharing burdens.

Finally, I couldn't resist asking, "What would you say is the most significant point of difference between you two?" They took a moment to ponder, then replied with a grin, "Maybe, it's the beard "
